Pontispool Horse Trials incorporating The Cotswold Cup qualifiers (Open to all)
Update 27/8/25: Dressage is on old turf which is being aggravated this week to allow the forecast rain to penetrate.
Warm up for show jumping and cross country will be on the all weather surface. The show jumping will be timed and judged as per eventing rules. The only difference is that competitors will be required to wear cross country attire, skull caps and body protectors as you will continue straight into the cross country phase. The cross country will start with approximately 9 fences in the arena which has permanent banks, steps and ditches as well as water. Each track will then have 10-12 efforts on grass. Lucy McCarthy’s confidence building tracks will start with a flowing, relatively straight forward early part on the surface and asking more questions as the course progresses on grass. There are alternative black flagged fences at the more complex obstacles. You can expect a similar number of efforts to a full cross country course, over a shortened distance on grass.
